The Department of Veteran Affairs, San Diego VA Health Care System, is seeking sources for Gurney Van Transportation Services. The contractor shall provide all vehicles, personnel, management, supplies, equipment, and necessary reporting for the provision of Gurney Van Transports to Veteran patients of the main VASDHS Medical Center and its participating Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The services shall be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. The contractor shall also provide bariatric transportation, stair transport chair service, and transport of miscellaneous items with the patient. • The contractor shall provide specially equipped vehicles, trained personnel, and specialized equipment for bariatric transportation. • The contractor shall provide a stair transport chair or equivalent for transporting veteran patients up and down stairs. • The contractor shall transport patient luggage, medical records, medication, and comfort items from pickup points to destination at no additional cost to the Government. • The contractor shall provide constant watch services for patients who are recovering from the effects of anesthesia or have cognitive impairment. • The contractor shall report any disruptive behavior by veterans to the VA Beneficiary Travel department.
