Description:
The California National Archery in the Schools Program (CalNASP) is a non-profit, international style archery program that provides students in grades 4-12 with the opportunity to learn and participate in target archery. The CalNASP grant is awarded to 10 new schools each fiscal year, providing a starter archery equipment kit to start the program in their PE classes. The kit includes Genesis compound bows, bulls-eye targets, an arrow-resistant net, bow racks, arrows, and an equipment maintenance kit. To be awarded the grant, schools must fill out the grant application and submit a Grant Criterion, detailing how NASP will be integrated into their curriculum and the potential impact it will have on students. • The grant is for equipment only, with no funds distributed directly to schools. • The grant is open to any K-12 educational institution in California not already affiliated with NASP. • The grant is funded by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program. • The grant application and Grant Criterion must be submitted by July 30th of each year. • Grant awardees will be announced by August 30th, with equipment being purchased and distributed by December 15th.
