Description:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking bids for a polished concrete floor project. The project involves converting approximately 1900 sq ft of existing VCT-tiled floor into a Salt & Pepper, Satin/Honed mechanically polished concrete surface. The finished floor must be dust-proof, slip-resistant, and chemically hardened. The project includes surface preparation, tile removal, edge work, wall base/moulding, remediation and repairs, polishing process, and chemical treatments. The contractor is required to provide a Base Bid strictly adhering to the specifications, but is also encouraged to submit "Proposed Alternates" for scenarios such as slab condition adjustments, aesthetic enhancements, and accelerated schedule. • The project requires a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail to achieve the desired aesthetic. • The contractor must ensure that the finished floor meets the required quality standards, including uniformity, slip resistance, and dust control. • The project includes multiple rooms and areas, including locker rooms, crew rooms, offices, and corridors. • The contractor must provide a detailed proposal, including a breakdown of costs and a description of the work to be performed.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$100,000 – $500,000

Based on the scope of work, the budget for this project is likely to be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the size of the project (approximately 1900 sq ft) and the level of complexity involved (including surface preparation, tile removal, edge work, wall base/moulding, remediation and repairs, polishing process, and chemical treatments). The actual budget may vary depending on the contractor's bid and the WYDOT's budget for the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and equipment, as well as the level of competition for the contract.
