The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified sources to provide statements of interest in response to this announcement for the purpose of market research and determination of acquisition competition strategy. The project involves the refurbishment of an elevator located at the Syracuse International Airport Air Traffic Control Tower (SYR-ATCT). The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to refurbish the elevator with minimal service outage. The successful contractor must be responsible for all aspects of the refurbishment of the elevator, including any electrical, mechanical, architectural, fire alarm, security, communications, and structural work associated with refurbishing the elevator. Key aspects of the project include: * Renovating the elevator pit * Furnishing and installing a new microcomputer-based traction control system * Furnishing and installing an isolation transformer * Furnishing and installing a new car leveling system * Furnishing and installing a new top-car and car-bottom inspection station * Furnishing and installing new top-of-car and bottom-of-car wire termination boxes * Furnishing and installing a new geared traction elevator machine and motor * Furnishing and installing new defector sheaves * Furnishing and installing new suspension ropes * Furnishing and installing a new centrifugal speed governor * Furnishing and installing a new Car Operator Panel (COP) * Furnishing and installing new car wiring * Furnishing and installing a new traveling cable * Furnishing and installing a non-contact door reopening device * Furnishing and installing new electrical power service for the elevator system * Furnishing and installing all new control wiring * Modifying existing hallway call stations * Modifying existing car directional lantern and Position Indicators on all floors * Refurbishing cab and hoistway doors and operator * Furnishing and installing car guide wheels * Furnishing and installing counterweight guide wheels * Furnishing and installing a car top safety railing * Cleaning the car top * Cleaning and testing buffers * Furnishing and installing a top-of-car inspection station * Adjusting counterweight balance * Replacing the car skirt * Checking hoistway rail brackets * Furnishing and installing a new cab ceiling lighting system * Furnishing and installing a new cab exhaust fan * Furnishing and installing the cab wall panels and handrail * Furnishing and installing hoistway pit and top of hoistway switch * Furnishing and installing a keyed hoist way access switch * Furnishing and installing new GFI outlets * Final cleaning of the Machine Room * Furnishing and installing equipment nameplates * Providing specialized elevator maintenance tools * Performing a fire alarm test, Phase I, Phase II recall test * Performing a cat-5, full-load test * Providing one year of elevator maintenance service The FAA requires that all submittals, including attachments, be submitted electronically to the POC identified in the announcement.
