The Feed the Future Innovation Labs program aims to advance global food security by supporting research and development in agricultural science and technology. The program will focus on two core objectives: advancing agricultural science and research to increase productivity and reduce hunger and malnutrition, and increasing demand for nutritious and safe foods. The program will support research partnerships led by U.S. universities and will conduct research and development within specific areas of inquiry. The program will also prioritize key issues such as private sector engagement, leveraging cutting-edge American technology and innovation, and mitigating production risks and vulnerabilities. • The program will support research in areas such as agricultural systems and sustainable intensification of production, livestock and animal health, nutrition, food systems, and food safety. • The program will prioritize geographic target areas that align with U.S. foreign policy goals and will promote trade, cooperation, and investment in countries of importance. • The program will require applicants to submit a statement of interest, which will be evaluated based on criteria such as the quality of the program idea, program planning, and organizational capacity. • The program will support awards ranging from $20 million to $40 million over a period of up to 60 months.
