The project involves the installation of two horizontal directional drills at 2785 Pinecrest Drive, Southport, NC 28461. The contractor will install a 6” water line and a 4” sewer force main, and abandon an existing 4” force main. The contractor must pressure test, flush, chlorinate, and connect the new lines to existing infrastructure. The project requires the contractor to minimize downtime during the installation process and ensure full operational integrity and compliance with state regulations. Key aspects of the project include: • Installing HDPE high-density polyethylene, extra high molecular-weight, PE3408 pressure-rated 200PSI, minimum DR-9 • Pressure testing, flushing, chlorinating, and performing a bacteriological (BAC-T) test on the water line • Abandoning the existing 4” force main by filling it completely with flowable fill • Establishing traffic control during the performance of the work • Seeding and mulching the site to BCPU standard specifications • Ensuring all necessary permits for the work are obtained
