The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources to replace the Critical Water System of the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) Department at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System East Orange Campus. The contractor will be responsible for providing, installing, and maintaining a critical water treatment and distribution system, including a temporary system during the removal of the existing system. The system must produce water meeting all requirements of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) ST108 Critical Water Quality Specifications. • The system must include water treatment technologies such as pre-treatment, water softener, carbon filter, deionization, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet light disinfection, and endotoxin filtration. • The system must have a conical or bowl-shaped base and be fully drainable. • The contractor must provide detailed schematics and specifications for the proposed new system. • The system must be equipped with built-in gauges providing parameters such as flowmeter, floor-mounted leak detector, and digital monitor. • The contractor must perform routine maintenance of the system at a minimum frequency of once per month. • The contractor must respond on-site to all emergency service calls within a maximum of 4 hours.
