The United States Air Force is seeking a Haas UMC 750SS Vertical Machining Center for delivery and installation at Misawa Air Base. The machining center should have a 30" x 20" x 20" working area, 5-axis capability, and integrated 2-axis trunnion rotary table. The contractor shall also provide installation and training, which can only be performed by Haas certified technicians. The Air Force has determined that Haas Automation Inc and Phillips Corp are the only companies that possess the necessary certifications. Key features of the machining center include: • 40 taper spindle with 30 hp vector drive • 12,000 rpm and 90 ft-lb @2000 rpm • Electronic thermal compensation • 30+1 side-mount tool changer • 1200 ipm rapids and 650 ipm max cutting • Wireless intuitive probing system • CNC control cabinet cooler and touch screen control The contractor shall deliver the machining center within 30 to 60 days after contract award.
