Description:
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is seeking proposals from qualified private sector firms to implement an electric vehicle (EV) charging project funded under the federal Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) program. The project aims to install a minimum of 75 Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations, each with a minimum of four charging ports, around the 19-county Atlanta region. The selected firm will be responsible for designing, permitting, installing, operating, and maintaining the EV charging infrastructure. The project has a total budget of $6,120,067, with $6,120,067 in federal funding and a minimum of $1,530,017 in private sector investment. Key requirements for the project include meeting federal standards for EV charging equipment, providing a minimum of four network-connected charging ports per station, and ensuring that each charging port has a continuous power delivery rating of at least 6 kW. The selected firm will be expected to work closely with ARC and other stakeholders to identify potential locations for the charging stations, finalize the sites, and ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. • The project is part of ARC's commitment to investing in transportation infrastructure that offers greater economic opportunities and improved access to good jobs and essential services for all of the region's residents. • The selected firm will be required to provide a minimum 20% match of non-federal funds to access the full amount of federal funding available. • The project has a desired target date for completion of March 31, 2029. • The selected firm will be expected to indemnify and hold harmless ARC from all claims resulting in harm to any individual or entity related to the equipment. • The project will be subject to an ongoing internal USDOT review of the CFI program and its alignment with evolving federal policies.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$7,650,084 – $10,000,000

Based on the total budget of $6,120,067 in federal funding and a minimum of $1,530,017 in private sector investment, the estimated budget for this project could be in the range of $7,650,084 to $10,000,000. This estimate takes into account the minimum match of non-federal funds required and the potential for additional investment from the private sector. The actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specifics of the proposal and the final agreement with the selected firm. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the experience and qualifications of the selected firm, and the level of investment required to meet the project's objectives.
