The City of Lakeland is seeking a qualified contractor to retrofit an existing dry retention pond with an underdrain system. The project involves removing the underdrains and installing a biosorption-activated media (BAM) system under the pond bottom. The BAM system will reduce nutrient concentrations in stormwater flows by 45%. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for the project. The project includes drainage structure modifications, removal of concrete ditch pavement, sodding, underdrain and impermeable liner installation, specialty valve installation, and associated ancillary activities. • The contractor must provide a qualified field representative to be on site during delivery, stockpiling, installation, and maintenance of the BAM media. • The contractor must submit engineered soil media specification sheets, including shipping, handling, storage, installation, and maintenance recommendations. • The contractor must provide a certificate of authenticity for the BAM media delivered to the project site. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances related to safety and health. • The contractor must provide insurance coverage, including workers' compensation, liability, and property damage insurance.
