The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract on a sole source basis to Tecan U.S., Inc. for the procurement of five modified Tecan Fluent 480 Liquid Handlers. The machines are required to perform various tasks, including scanning barcodes, decapping tubes, pipetting, recapping tubes, sealing plates, and incubating plates. The machines must be fully enclosed, HEPA filtered, and compatible with the National Bio and Agro Defense Facility (NBAF) and National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) current automation setup. • The machines must be able to process 96 samples at one time. • The machines must be able to handle tube sizes of 2ml, 5ml, and 12ml cryovials and 8.5ml serum separator tubes. • The machines must have a minimum of three 320ml reagent reservoirs and eight 100ml reservoirs. • The machines must be able to move tubes and plates across the worktable. • The machines must have cold block functions and shaking functions for a 96-well plate. • The machines must be able to incubate up to six 96-well plates at temperatures ranging from 25°C to 37°C. • The machines must be conventional thermal cycler capable of running 2 and 3 cycle PCRs. • The machines must be fully enclosed, HEPA filtered, and have a weight of less than 200lbs. • The machines must be powered by 120V/50-60 Hz and be smaller than 46 inches in any dimension.
