Description:
The US Air Force is seeking a contractor to replace the Variable Refrigerant Flow Condenser System with Heat Pump located in Building 2261, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Fort Sam Houston. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and personnel necessary to complete the purchase, delivery, removal, installation, and disposal of the three Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Condensers System with Heat Pump. The project includes crane lift operations, lock out tag out procedures, recovery and recycling of refrigerant, and testing of the new system. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Key tasks include: • Furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and personnel necessary to complete the project • Conducting crane lift operations and submitting a lift plan for approval • Recovering and recycling refrigerant from the existing VRF condenser units • Flushing existing refrigerant piping with a flushing agent and purging with nitrogen • Reconnecting new condensers to existing electrical with new whip and flexible conduit • Insulating exterior exposed copper piping with aluminum jacketing • Procuring, removing, and replacing 10 Fan Coil Units and 10 thermostats • Pressurizing the VRF system with nitrogen and testing for leaks • Charging the new VRF system to manufacturer specifications with appropriate refrigerant and performing functional testing • Providing all system documentation, including operating manuals and warranty information
