The U.S. Department of the Navy is conducting market research for the potential acquisition of a Flag Barge to support the U.S. Seventh Fleet. The barge will serve as a platform for diplomatic and inter-service meetings, showcasing the rich history and notable sights of high-interest areas. The Navy plans to award a contract in FY26 for an estimated one boat, to be delivered to Yokosuka, Japan. The barge should have a length of 10.0m, a beam of 3.35m, and a maximum full load draft of 1.25m. It should be equipped with a single screw diesel propulsion engine, a hydraulically operated gearbox, and other standard or upgraded systems. The vessel should comply with all applicable United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and have a cruising speed of at least 15 kts. • The barge should have a traditional nautical decor, with wood and/or brass trim, and feature a pilothouse as a separate, dedicated space. • The vessel should have at least two lounge areas, with seating for a minimum of 15 passengers, and include safety equipment such as life rafts, personal flotation devices, and a distress signaling device. • The barge should be equipped with a reliable fuel system, a Fast Lube Oil Change System, and a portable fire extinguisher. • The contractor should provide all available original equipment manufacturer (OEM) documentation, including installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.
