The Big Johnson Channel Stabilization project involves constructing improvements to address erosion at a location south of the intersection of Powers Blvd and Peak Innovation Parkway. The project includes the stabilization of the drainage channel downstream of pond 705 with channel grading improvements, 4 sculpted concrete drop structures, and riprap installation within the channel. The project requires various technical specifications, including CDOT mobilization, clearing and grubbing, removal of structures and obstructions, excavation and embankment, aggregate base course, steel sheet piles, riprap, structural concrete, reinforcing steel, sculpted concrete, metal railings, Portland cement concrete pavement, warning signs, barrier fence and gate, topsoil, erosion control, seeding, and soil retention covering. • The project is located outside the City of Colorado Springs boundary, south of the Colorado Springs Airport. • The project requires electronic bid submission. • The project has a lump sum pricing. • The project requires insurance. • The project has a prebid conference, which is recommended but not mandatory.
