The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities is seeking a grantee to administer and implement the ADU Incentive Program, which aims to support the development of Protected Use Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) across Massachusetts cities and towns. The program will provide education for property owners and tenants, increase the production of ADUs, and offer financing options for ADU construction. The grant award will be approximately $9,000,000, and the contract term is expected to be around 2 years. The grantee will be required to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. • The grant award will be used to support eligible activities, including but not limited to, increasing property owners' understanding of the laws, rules, and regulations of being a landlord • Educating homebuilders and remodelers as well as other real estate industry professionals • Helping future ADU tenants understand their rights • Boosting the construction of ADUs • Issuing grants, loans, and other financial assistance • Coordinating with cities, towns, and regional entities to maximize resources to increase the production of ADUs
