The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners is seeking a strategic planning facilitator to help develop a new 5-year strategic plan. The facilitator will work with the MBLC Strategic Planning Group to review and analyze current library services, create a collective vision of future library services, and outline and draft a Strategic Plan that builds on these findings and incorporates input from stakeholders. The facilitator will conduct no more than five in-person meetings and will be responsible for developing specific deliverables to meet the goals of the project. The contract is expected to last for 8 months, from June 30, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Some key points to consider: • The MBLC strives to provide every resident of the Commonwealth with full and equal access to library information resources. • The new strategic plan will address statutory, regulatory, programmatic, technological, and funding issues. • The facilitator will work with the MBLC Strategic Planning Group to determine the objectives of each meeting and ensure that the objectives are reached. • The facilitator will compile notes reflecting the discussions and decisions made during the meetings. • The contract will be project-based, and payment will be based on a schedule of deliverables and the completion of various phases of the negotiated statement of work.
