Description:
The Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) program aims to expand postbaccalaureate educational opportunities for Hispanic students and enhance the academic attainment of these students. The program seeks to achieve this by providing grants to Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) to expand and enhance their graduate school offerings. The grants will support the development of new postgraduate degree, certificate, or credentialing programs, as well as the enhancement of existing programs. The program also encourages applicants to form partnerships with other HSIs and non-HSI institutions, as well as workforce entities, to leverage resources and opportunities for apprenticeships, internships, workplace learning, or similar experiences for students. Some key points about the program include: * The program is administered by the Office of Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education. * The application deadline is July 28, 2022. * Only eligible Institutions of Higher Education that meet the definition of Hispanic-Serving Institutions may apply for a grant under this program. * Grants under this competition will be awarded on a competitive basis for Individual Development Grants only. * The program has one Absolute Priority, two Competitive Preference Priorities, and one Invitational Priority. * Applicants must address the Absolute Priority and may respond to one or both Competitive Preference Priorities for a total of up to 15 additional points. * The program has a total possible score of 115 points.
