The City of San Diego is seeking a Construction Management Services Consultant team to act as the Construction Manager and Resident Engineer for the Alvarado Laboratory Improvements Project. The project aims to address significant functional and operational challenges within the current Alvarado Laboratory facility by elevating the lab to a "world-class" standard. The project includes a comprehensive interior renovation of the existing lab and office spaces, along with the construction of a substantial new addition for expanded laboratory and office use. The proposed improvements include the construction of a new two-story laboratory building with office space, spanning approximately 31,400 square feet, and 18,000 square feet of parking located beneath the new structure. • The project involves the retrofit and partial reconstruction of the existing 43,400-square-foot Alvarado Laboratory building. • Other upgrades include the rehabilitation of a 72-inch pressurized water pipeline with (2) access vaults, valves, and fittings, as well as site improvements. • The project will be delivered via a Design-Build delivery method, and the City is actively pursuing a contract with a Design-Builder. • The estimated range of the Construction Management fee for the project will be between $100,000.00 and $2,000,000.00.
