Description:
The City of Norwalk is seeking a qualified printing contractor to produce and mail its two municipal newsletters—Norwalk Now (monthly) and Norwalk Future (thrice‑yearly). The contractor will receive print‑ready PDFs from the City, obtain written approval before printing, produce full‑color, full‑bleed newsletters on specified stock, and handle USPS‑compliant mailing of roughly 30,000 copies per issue plus a small internal distribution. Delivery of each issue must occur within seven business days of approval. The contract will be a two‑year professional services agreement with the possibility of renewal. • Produce 12 monthly issues of Norwalk Now (≈30 k copies/issue, 22×17 in, 70 lb coated, quarter‑fold). • Produce 3 annual issues of Norwalk Future (≈30 k copies/issue, 11×17 in flat → 8.5×11 in finished, 80 lb gloss cover, half‑fold). • Provide digital proofs, manage quality control, prepare and execute USPS bulk mailing, and deliver ~150 copies to City Hall per issue. • Meet a strict 7‑business‑day turnaround from print approval to delivery, and notify the City within 2 business days of post‑office delivery.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$300,000 – $600,000

Based on 30,000 copies per issue, 15 issues per year (12 + 3), and a two‑year term, the contract will involve printing and mailing roughly 900,000 copies. Assuming an average cost of $0.40–$0.70 per copy (including paper, ink, printing, binding, and bulk USPS postage), total spend would fall between $360,000 and $630,000 over the contract life. Adding modest project‑management and proof‑review fees could raise the upper bound slightly, yielding an estimated range of $300k–$600k.
