The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking proposals from hotels located in Downtown Houston to provide guest accommodations for the 2026 Gulf South Summit. The hotel must be within three miles of the university's campus and 2-3 blocks of METRORail access. The university requires a room block of 100 guest rooms per night on March 26 and 27, 2026, with an additional 10-25 guest rooms on the adjacent shoulder nights. The hotel must be rated three stars or higher and have standard amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi and in-room amenities. • The hotel must be able to accommodate guests with disabilities. • The hotel must outline available parking options and associated pricing. • The hotel must describe its attrition policy, including fill percentage, cutoff dates, and treatment of shoulder night rooms. • The hotel must include any complimentary room offerings, upgrades, etc. • The hotel must provide a statement of transition requirements to implement the contract. • The hotel must provide an estimate of the earliest start date following the execution of a contract. • The hotel must submit a work plan with key dates and milestones.
