The Illinois Secretary of State is seeking bids for the monthly maintenance and repair of elevators located at three Chicago facilities. The contractor must also provide a drug-free workplace and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • Monthly maintenance tasks include checking hydraulic oil levels, pump and motor shaft bearings, selector gears, and mechanical parts for wear. • Quarterly maintenance tasks include cleaning the top of the car and fan cover, checking piping and couplings for leaks, and checking belts for wear and proper tension. • Semi-annual maintenance tasks include checking the car frame and cam for bolt fastening and checking the escape hatch safety switch and hatch bolts. • The contractor must also provide a preventative maintenance schedule and maintain the elevators in accordance with industry standards.
