The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a contractor to provide dialysis and nephrology services to inmates at the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, North Carolina. The contractor will be responsible for providing on-site dialysis services, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, as well as diagnostic and follow-up evaluations by a nephrologist. The contractor will also be responsible for managing medical record information and maintaining open communication with the government regarding contract services. The contractor must have experience providing dialysis and nephrology services in a correctional setting and must be certified by a nationally recognized healthcare accreditation agency. • The contractor will provide services to both acute and chronic dialysis patients, including those with communicable and infectious diseases. • The contractor will develop and implement a written, individualized plan of care for each patient, including measurable and expected outcomes and estimated timetables to achieve outcomes. • The contractor will provide specialized testing, including transonic studies and kinetic clearance of peritoneal fluid. • The contractor will maintain an active, ongoing quality assurance and utilization review program to ensure high-quality patient care. • The contractor will provide all necessary equipment and supplies, except for those provided by the government, such as utilities and disposal boxes for biomedical waste.
