Description:
The Verticals-enabling Intelligent Network Systems (VINES) program seeks to support fundamental research and technology development in next-generation intelligent network systems. The program aims to enhance U.S. competitiveness in advanced telecommunications technologies and establish itself as a global leader in NextG wireless telecommunications and emerging potential NextG vertical industries. The program is organized into two tracks: Track 1 focuses on use-inspired fundamental research, while Track 2 focuses on technology development, maturation, demonstration, integration, and translation of solutions. • The program seeks to support collaborative research that transcends traditional boundaries of individual disciplines or geographic boundaries. • The program aims to increase investments in foundational technology innovations and their translation. • International collaborative proposals are expected to have the international team funded by the respective international partner. • Proposals may only be submitted by eligible institutions, including institutions of higher education, non-profit organizations, and for-profit organizations. • The program has a whole-of-government approach, with collaborating U.S. Federal agencies participating in the development of the solicitation.
