Description:
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works is seeking vendors for a 3-year agreement to provide K-rails, which are temporary railings used for construction and other purposes. The vendor must be able to deliver K-rails within 24 hours in case of emergencies and provide a fixed plant location for calculating mileage for delivery charges. The K-rails must be constructed in accordance with the State of California Department of Transportation Standard Plan T3A, 2022 edition. The vendor may provide both new and used K-rails, but the prices for new and used K-rails must be specified separately. • The vendor must be able to deliver K-rails to various locations throughout Los Angeles County. • The vendor must provide for delivery of K-rails utilizing trucks that are legally capable of delivering a minimum of six 20-foot panels, twelve 10-foot panels, or any combination of 10-foot and 20-foot panels for a total length of 120 feet of K-rail, per truck. • The vendor must allow a minimum of 60 minutes of time, at no cost to the County, to off-load the material after arriving at the delivery location. • The vendor must provide a bid based on the specified line items, including the price per each for new and used K-rails, connection bolts, and capped stakes.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without knowing the exact quantity of K-rails required by the county. However, considering the 3-year term of the agreement and the various delivery locations throughout Los Angeles County, it is likely that the total budget will be substantial. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of K-rails delivered, the frequency of deliveries, and the prices bid by the vendor for each line item. Assuming an average annual delivery of 10,000 feet of K-rails, with a mix of new and used panels, and considering the prices for connection bolts, capped stakes, and freight, a rough estimate for the total budget over the 3-year term could be between $500,000 and $2,000,000.
