Description:
The Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the Wildfire Mitigation Home Hardening Grant Project. The project aims to improve community resiliency in high fire risk areas by making property-specific home hardening improvements to residential structures and improving defensible space around them. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating resources and activities to fulfill the grant objectives on approximately 415 qualified properties within the 2-3 year remaining timeline of the grant. Key responsibilities include project management, project development, budget management, supervision of contractors, and community outreach and education. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in project management, strong facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse organizations and community groups. Some of the key tasks and deliverables include: • Providing critical outreach and education to residents within the project area about wildfire loss prevention and mitigation opportunities • Performing site assessments within the project area for identification of wildfire retrofit and defensible space • Managing contractors and providing oversight of performing home hardening and defensible space activities on residential structures • Maintaining scheduled office presence and participating in regular meetings with the Program Director, staff, and agencies involved in the project • Managing the applicable project budget and ensuring timely completion of each phase of the project
