The City of Garland is seeking a contractor to expand and improve the Garland Sanitation Transfer Station. The project includes various divisions of work such as general requirements, concrete, masonry, metals, wood, plastics, and composites, thermal and moisture protection, openings, finishes, specialties, equipment, furnishings, special construction, conveying equipment, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, low voltage systems, electronic safety and security, earthwork, exterior improvements, and utilities. The contractor will be selected based on the best value to the City, considering the relative importance of price and other evaluation factors. The contract will require a payment bond and a performance bond for public works contracts exceeding $50,000 and $100,000 respectively. The contractor must comply with prevailing wage rates and adhere to all specifications and requirements outlined in the bid documents. • The project requires a pre-proposal meeting and a pre-proposal site visit, although attendance is highly recommended but not mandatory. • The contractor must provide a bid bond in the amount of not less than 5% of the maximum bid price. • The contractor must comply with Texas Government Code Chapter 2258, Prevailing Wage Rates. • The contractor must pay not less than the prevailing wage rates as determined by the United States Department of Labor.
