The City of Winston-Salem is seeking bids for the construction of sidewalks and other pedestrian improvements along Fairlawn Drive. The project involves grading, drainage, paving, curb & gutter, and sidewalks. The construction time is estimated to be 150 calendar days from the notice to proceed, with liquidated damages of $600/day. The project is partially federally funded, and as such, Davis-Bacon wages apply, along with other specific forms that must be submitted with a bid. • The project requires 100% Performance & Payment Bonds. • All prime contractors and subcontractors must be NCDOT prequalified at the time of bid. • Compliance with NCDOT's DBE program is currently not required on federally funded projects as of October 3, 2025. • A non-mandatory virtual pre-bid conference will be held to describe and summarize the scope of work and to take questions from interested bidders.
