Description:
The City of Asheville is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide full‑cycle design, geotechnical, mitigation, permitting, and construction‑administration services for the repair and permanent stabilization of landslides caused by Hurricane Helene throughout the city. Up to three separate contracts (Projects A, B, C) may be awarded, allowing multiple firms to work concurrently on dozens of sites. The work must be compatible with FEMA Public Assistance and other federal disaster‑relief funding, requiring strict scope‑separation and cost‑tracking. • Perform damage assessments, geotechnical investigations, and slope‑stability analyses for each identified site. • Develop design plans, construction documents, and mitigation measures that meet FEMA, state, and local code requirements. • Manage permitting, cost‑reasonableness analyses, and contract administration through design and into construction phases.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

No contract value is disclosed, but the project involves design and construction‑administration for dozens of landslide‑affected sites across Asheville. Assuming an average professional‑services fee of $150,000–$250,000 per site (including geotechnical studies, design, permitting, and admin) and estimating 30–40 sites, total fees could range from roughly $4.5 million to $10 million. Considering economies of scale and potential shared contracts, a realistic earnings range for a single awarded firm is estimated between $1 million (small portion of the work) and $5 million (multiple projects or larger share).
