Description:
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking a qualified electrical contractor to supply and install a standby diesel generator, an automatic transfer switch (ATS), a manual transfer switch (MTS), and a CamLok quick‑connect locking system at the Happy Valley Fire Center in Redding, CA. The contractor must provide all materials, labor, permits, testing, commissioning, training, and one‑year warranty, and must meet CAL FIRE’s electrical, safety, and code requirements. The project includes demolition of existing equipment, site work (concrete pads, conduit, grounding, and bonding), coordination with PG&E, and full system testing in the presence of the State Fire Marshal. • Supply and install a 30 kW or 150 kW standby diesel generator with associated ATS and CamLok system. • Provide all associated switchboards, conduit, grounding, strip heaters, and site‑preparation work, including concrete pads and protective bollards. • Complete testing, commissioning, on‑site training (minimum 8 hours), and deliver as‑built documentation and a one‑year warranty.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$200,000 – $600,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract ceiling. Similar CAL FIRE generator‑installation projects for a 30‑150 kW standby system, including full electrical work, typically range from $200,000 to $600,000 depending on equipment choice, site conditions, and labor rates. Therefore a reasonable estimate for the award value is between $200K and $600K.
