Description:
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking a qualified contractor to design, procure, and install a new vehicle‑exhaust capture system at the Dobbins Fire Station (Yuba County). The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and a one‑year warranty for a system that captures exhaust from fire apparatus, transports it through stainless‑steel ductwork, and exhausts it safely outdoors via sliding‑track balance fans with variable‑frequency‑drive control. The contractor must hold appropriate California State Licensing Board (CSLB) licenses (C20 or C43 and C61/D34) and must comply with Title 24 building, mechanical, electrical, fire, and seismic codes. • Install two 21‑inch sliding‑track exhaust fans, associated ductwork, and a 5 hp VFD‑controlled blower. • Provide all electrical connections, safety disconnects, and UL‑listed control panels, ensuring compliance with OSHA and state fire‑code requirements. • Deliver complete design documentation, obtain required permits, and provide manufacturer‑certified commissioning and a one‑year warranty.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$75,000 – $150,000

Based on comparable fire‑station exhaust system projects, the total contract value is likely between $75,000 and $150,000. Costs include engineering design, custom stainless‑steel duct fabrication, two high‑capacity sliding‑track fans, a VFD‑controlled blower, electrical work, permits, labor, and a one‑year warranty. The lower end assumes standard equipment and minimal site complications; the higher end reflects premium equipment, extensive custom fabrication, and potential seismic‑bracing requirements.
