The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a 5-Cable Substation Recovery Trailer. The trailer must be an enclosed trailer with motorized spools capable of storing and transporting 4000' of 4/0 type W cable. It should have a generator power to operate the motorized spools, a solar battery charger, and an aluminum or galvanized steel frame. The trailer should also have 2 axles, 4 wheels, 4 tires, and a 9,000 lb. weight capacity. Other requirements include electric breaks, 5 cord reels capable of holding 1000' each of 3/0 type W copper cable, a gasoline powered portable generator, a deep cycle battery, and a solar charger. • The trailer must be DOT compliant with proper lighting. • The trailer should have a pendant forward/reverse controller and a pentile hitch. • The trailer should be able to raise and lower the hitch using a swivel jack.
