Description:
The Schenectady City School District is seeking proposals for pupil transportation services for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful proposer will provide buses, drivers, and bus attendants to transport students to and from school, as well as provide transportation for after-school programs and summer programs. The contract will be awarded to the proposer with the highest point total as scored by the committee, based on factors such as previous experience, safety programs, driving history, and overall cost. The proposer must possess and demonstrate facilities, knowledge, and capabilities to satisfy all New York State Department of Transportation rules, regulations, and vehicle inspection requirements. Some key points to consider: * The contract will be for a term of one year, with the option for annual renewal for up to five years. * The proposer must submit a proposal bond of 5% of the total proposed annual contract or an irrevocable letter of credit for $50,000. * The proposer must also submit a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the total amount of the awarded contract within 10 calendar days after award of contract. * The District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interests of the District may be served. * The proposer must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements, including those related to safety, insurance, and bonding. * The proposer must also provide documentation of their experience, qualifications, and capabilities to provide pupil transportation services. * The District will evaluate and score each proposal based on the categories presented in the RFP, including previous experience, safety programs, driving history, and overall cost. * The proposer must submit one original, one copy, and one digital copy of the proposal, addressing all areas required by the RFP. Some of the key requirements for the proposal include: * A detailed description of the proposer's experience in providing pupil transportation services * A description of the safety programs implemented by the proposer * A record of accidents in motor vehicles under the control of the proposer * A description of the driving history of employees of the proposer * A description of the inspection records and model year of the motor vehicles under the control of the proposer * A description of the maintenance schedule of the motor vehicles under the control of the proposer * A financial analysis of the proposer * A description of the proposer's compliance with insurance requirements * A detailed schedule that replicates the current system and provides adequate explanation for computing the annual cost * A proposal bond of 5% of the total proposed annual contract or an irrevocable letter of credit for $50,000 * A performance bond in the amount of 100% of the total amount of the awarded contract * Proof of insurance and bonding * Other documentation as required by the RFP.
