Description:
The Cumberland County Engineering Department is soliciting bids for the Detention Center Cooling Tower Rebuild project. The project involves rebuilding two cooling towers at the Cumberland County Detention Center. The scope of work includes mobilizing and setting up the job site, replacing fill material, air inlet louvers, and drift eliminators, and restoring the hot and cold-water basins. The contractor will also be responsible for providing testing, adjusting, and balancing for each tower cell and providing owner training. The project must be completed within 60 days of the start of construction and prior to February 28, 2027. Some key requirements for the contractor include: • Being a single prime cooling tower manufacturer representative • Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in performing cooling tower rebuilds • Providing 5 past project references of successful cooling tower rebuilds • Having factory-trained technicians who can provide instruction, routine maintenance, and emergency service • Providing a full-time on-site experienced project manager • Including all permitting and inspection costs in the bid • Furnishing all crane, rigging, and trucking as needed for the project The contractor will be required to provide a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid price and performance and payment bonds.
