The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified vendors to construct a new Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Base building at the Des Moines International Airport (DSM) in Des Moines, Iowa. The project consists of the construction of an ATCT 245 feet AGL to the top of structure, and approximately 22,900 square foot base building erected on an approximately 6-acre site. The ATCT and Base Building will be compliant with International Building Code (IBC) Risk Category IV and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Operational 1-A. The project also includes site improvements, utilities, and landscaping. • The project includes the construction of a detention pond for stormwater and a 1200 ft long access road. • The project requires compliance with various permits, including erosion control, stormwater, and air permit. • The contractor will be responsible for managing deliveries and construction activities. • The project duration is estimated to be 730 calendar days (2 years).
