Description:
The Army Contracting Command (ACC) - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Tobyhanna Division is seeking information from potential vendors for the provision of a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Horizontal Machining Center. The center will be used for machining operations at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. The vendor will be responsible for the design, supply, delivery, installation, and training for the machine. The machine must meet specific requirements, including column cross X-axis travel, spindle head vertical Y-axis travel, work table Z-axis travel, and rapid traverse. The vendor must also ensure that the machine is compatible with the TYAD Distributed Numerical Control (DNC) software and MasterCAM Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. • The machine must be a horizontal machining center type • The machine must have a column cross X-axis travel of 40-44 inches • The machine must have a spindle head vertical Y-axis travel of 35-40 inches • The machine must have a work table Z-axis travel of 40-42 inches • The machine must have a rapid traverse of at least 2,000 inches per minute • The machine must have a workpiece swing of 45-50 inches • The machine must have a spindle nose-to-rotary table center of 2 inches or less to 40 inches or more • The machine must have a spindle center to top pallet face of 4 inches or less to 38 inches or more • The machine must have a table 4th axis with 360,000 positions, minimum • The machine must have a pallet load rating of at least 3,000 pounds • The machine must have a pallet height from floor of 45-48 inches • The machine must have a spindle speed range of 50-15,000 rpm minimum • The machine must have a spindle drive motor horsepower of 50-55 horsepower • The machine must have a spindle taper of CAT50 • The machine must have a tool storage capacity of 120 minimum • The machine must have four (4) tombstones, 24” minimum X 24” minimum, 4-sided with tapped holes • The machine must have a maximum tool size of at least 11 inches • The machine must have a maximum tool length of at least 23 inches • The machine must have a maximum tool weight of at least 55 pounds
