Description:
The Texas Historical Commission is seeking a Capital Project Liaison to oversee and manage capital projects for historic sites across Texas. The successful respondent will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure projects are executed within established timelines and budgets while maintaining high standards of construction, preservation, and interpretation. The liaison will be responsible for managing project scopes, ensuring timely completion, identifying and resolving project issues, and collaborating with contractors and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Managing and overseeing capital project scopes and services for historical assets across Texas • Ensuring timely completion of all projects by actively managing and adhering to established timelines • Identifying and resolving project issues or potential delays to maintain steady progress • Collaborating closely with the general contractor to ensure accurate and comprehensive costing, supporting the development of a well-defined budget and effective resource allocation • Providing expert construction advice and technical expertise to support project goals • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant preservation standards and practices • Facilitating clear and consistent communication with contractors, stakeholders, and project participants • Resolving interpretive challenges and overseeing the development of exhibits that meet the highest standards of historical accuracy, consistency, and quality • Regularly reporting project progress and issues to the Executive Director of the Texas Historical Commission
