The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) is seeking support services for the DoD Serum Repository. The contractor will be responsible for providing various services including specimen processing, laboratory operations, data entry, general repository operations, transportation of specimens, equipment monitoring, and maintenance. The contractor will work with the repository to prepare aliquots of serum specimens for public health sero-surveillance, operational and research studies. The work includes management support, laboratory support, inventory support, transportation support, and general office duties. The contract is expected to be a firm-fixed-contract for a base and four option years. • Specimen processing: accepting shipments, verifying contents, performing data entry, and storing specimens in walk-in freezers. • Laboratory operations: preparing specimens for shipping, thawing and labeling aliquots, and reshelving aliquots. • Data entry: accessing specimens into the inventory system, recording retrieved and re-shelved specimens, and tracking aliquots. • General repository operations: managing repository personnel, providing a point of contact for the monitoring system, and assisting with procuring supplies. • Transportation of specimens: transporting specimens from contract laboratories to the DoDSR using a government-supplied freezer truck. • Equipment monitoring: providing 24/7 monitoring of freezer units and performing routine maintenance. • Maintenance: providing 24/7 emergency maintenance and repair service for all freezers and equipment.
