The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a qualified individual or firm to provide exceptional WRRC Water Slide Gel Coat services. The selected contractor will be responsible for thoroughly prepping, gelcoating, and cleaning the interior and exterior surface of a 120’ open flume body slide at an indoor facility. The contractor must ensure that all surface coatings are sprayed, not hand applied, and that the gelcoat does not bridge over seams. The contractor must also wet-sand the gelcoat to remove any undesirable surface imperfections and re-caulk the interior ride path seams. The pool area will be closed to the public for the duration of the project, but the remainder of the Recreation Center will remain operational. The contractor must conduct work so that city operations will not be disrupted. Key considerations for this project include: • Thoroughly prep, gelcoat, and clean interior and exterior surface of 120’ open flume body slide at indoor facility • Remove all calcium build-up, dirt, grime, and other surface contaminants from surfaces to ensure adhesion of coatings to fiberglass surface • Sand surfaces to create an adequate adhesion profile for the gel coat • Apply gelcoat on the interior in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and to the dry film thickness mils required by the slide manufacturer (WhiteWater) • Ensure that the gelcoat does not bridge over seams • Wet-sand gelcoat to remove any undesirable surface imperfections, airborne contaminants and positive or negative profiles that may arise after the final curing stage • Re-caulk interior ride path seams • Wax the ride path to enhance gloss and ride path velocity The City of Wheat Ridge will evaluate proposals based on the following criteria: • Firm Capabilities and References for Similar Work Completed by Proposed Team (20 points) • Scope of Submission (20 points) • Effective Approach and Timeline (20 points) • Plan Effectiveness (20 points) • Price and/or Total Cost of Ownership (20 points)
