The Asheville City Schools is seeking bids for the interior painting of Isaac Dickson Elementary School. The project includes painting classrooms, hallways, common areas, gymnasium, cafeteria, restrooms, stairwells, and the media center. The selected contractor will be responsible for surface preparation, including scraping, sanding, and priming, patching and repairing damaged surfaces, and covering and protecting floors and other surfaces not to be painted. The contractor must comply with all laws, ordinances, codes, rules, regulations, and licensing requirements applicable to the conduct of its business. • The project requires the contractor to perform an annual check of the N.C. Sex Offender and Public Protection Registration Program, the Sexually Violent Predator Registration Program, and the National Sex Offender Registry for all employees involved in the project. • The contractor must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the District as an additional insured. • The contractor must comply with all relevant ACS Policies and Procedures applicable to its provision of services. • The contractor must provide assistance in recruitment of minority businesses. Some key points about the project include: • Work shall start within 2 weeks of bid being awarded. • Work shall be completed no later than August 15, 2025. • The contractor must make a good faith effort to utilize minority suppliers where possible.
