Description:
The United States Agency for International Development, Kenya and East Africa (USAID/KEA) is seeking input from stakeholders to inform the design of a new elections support program. The program aims to strengthen citizen confidence and trust in Kenya's electoral institutions and processes. The program will focus on the 2027 electoral cycle and will be implemented over a period of four years from 2025 to 2028. The program will have three outcomes: (1) electoral institutions and processes are more accountable, efficient, and effective, (2) increased citizens' participation in electoral and political processes, and (3) increased and meaningful inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other special interest groups in electoral processes and leadership positions. • The program will focus on electoral legal reforms, electoral institutional strengthening, and electoral conflict mitigation. • The program will also focus on voter education, civic engagement, and voter education to enhance citizen understanding of the electoral process. • The program will strengthen political parties and promote internal democracy. • The program will promote the inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other special interest groups in electoral processes and leadership positions.
