The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department is soliciting bids to rebuild the components of the current NSJ Chiller #1 at Nashua Street Jail. The contractor will be responsible for overhauling and tearing down the chiller. The contract will start as soon as possible and must be completed by April 1, 2026. The bidder must meet certain qualifications, including being regularly engaged in the performance of similar services, having been in business for at least five years, and employing skilled and competent workers. The contractor will be required to adhere to all equal employment opportunity requirements and comply with the Prison Rape Elimination Act. • The contractor must attend a mandatory tour of the service location on September 18, 2025. • The contractor must submit a bid bond and a cost proposal. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to confidentiality and non-disclosure. • The contractor must defend and indemnify the Awarding Authority and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from any claims or suits brought by the contractor's employees or subcontractors. • The contractor must not disclose any confidential information obtained during the contract period.
