The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a City Prosecutor to provide professional legal services on behalf of the City. The successful candidate will conduct legal research, prepare and review legal documents, prosecute ordinance violations, and handle administrative hearings. The City Prosecutor will work closely with the City Attorney, City departments, law enforcement personnel, and other agencies to ensure consistent enforcement of the City’s codes and ordinances. Key responsibilities include: • Prosecuting all alleged violations of the City Code in Municipal Court • Managing abatement cases, including nuisance and property maintenance enforcement • Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda, pleadings, and related documents • Advising City departments, Police, and Code Enforcement staff on enforcement procedures and legal requirements The ideal candidate will have experience in municipal prosecution, criminal law, or code enforcement, and strong courtroom advocacy, legal writing, and research skills.
