WEBSITE REDESIGN AND UPGRADE NEEDS Institute on Immigrant Integration Research & Policy at the Rockefeller Institute of Government, SUNY SUMMARY OF NEEDS The Institute on Immigrant Integration Research and Policy at the Rockefeller Institute of Government, SUNY (II-RP) needs a complete redesign and rebuild of its NYImmigrants.org website which includes migrating the website off of the Wix platform on to a WordPress platform. Contractor will need conduct a full UX and visual design overhaul to modernize the website’s structure, improve accessibility, and create a cohesive, responsive design system. This effort will ensure that the new WordPress site not only functions smoothly but also provide a clear, inclusive, and engaging experience, while visually consistent for users across all devices, especially mobile devices. Transitioning off Wix should also deliver significant speed increases toward the loading of Tableau dashboards and other interactive features like future addition of videos and audio files. These can be embedded directly onto a static page for a user to view, like they are currently displayed. However, we would like estimate on cost of better organizing and tagging of these sheets, the creation of a custom post type to hold these files and add them to other pages and create custom post type for data sheets. Create taxonomies for post type Create the admin fields for the post type Develop the single display template Develop the archive section front template The Analysis & Design The Analysis & Design phase will validate the proposed UX improvements through stakeholder review, ensuring alignment between design, development, and project goals. Quality Assurance/Quality Control At each stage along the project cycle, it is important that deliverables are functioning as intended and meet the requirements of the project. Contractor’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team must perform rigorous testing, ensuring these standards are met before any handoff to III-RP. SUPPORT Post-launch is the most crucial part of the project. Once developed and deployed, it’s important to maintain ongoing support to ensure the III-RP website is secure and up-to-date. An ongoing maintenance plan can be contracted to support WordPress core and plugin updates and maintain those code updates. Maintenance plans will also scan site for any accessibility issues and broken content links. Contractor must be available to help with any technical issues or bugs at time and materials. In addition to development measures to harden WordPress, it’s also important to maintain regular updates for WordPress and its plugins. Contractor must provide plans for monthly maintenance to support regular updates and ongoing site monitoring that includes security features.
