The Town of Nantucket is seeking a consultant to develop a Strategic Retreat and Relocation Program to reduce risk in High and Priority Action Areas with extreme coastal risk. The program must be equitable, legal, implementable, and community-supported, and include a robust community-wide education and outreach strategy. The consultant will work closely with the Natural Resources Department and provide regular updates, and the final product will be presented to the Board of Selectman in a public meeting. • The program will focus on retreat planning, outreach, and education for various areas of the island. • The consultant will develop a comprehensive plan that includes triggers for retreat, rehabilitation and relocation land swaps, and regulatory updates. • The plan must be cohesive with other Town plans and take into consideration the historic context of the area. • The consultant will provide a final report that includes an executive summary, methodology, data analysis, and final recommendations. • The report will also include a community-wide education and outreach strategy, and a regulatory update plan. • The consultant will work with the Town's Natural Resources Department and other stakeholders to develop the plan.
