Description:
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is seeking a firm to design, manufacture, and deliver an equipment enclosure for the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Megawatt-Scale Low Temperature Electrolyzer Research Capability project. The enclosure will house and climate control the electrolyzer stacks and balance of plant (BOP) that supports those electrolyzer stacks. The enclosure will be made of multiple parts that make a total enclosure space of 24 X 50 feet with 12 feet tall ceilings. Key aspects of the project include: • The equipment enclosure must be structurally and functionally sound, meeting NREL's specifications. • The enclosure must be designed to safely support research equipment, experimental equipment, and lifted when partially loaded. • The vendor must demonstrate experience working with the government or National Laboratories. • The vendor must demonstrate capability to manufacture the equipment enclosure. • The vendor must provide a delivery schedule and manufacturing timeline.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work, which includes designing and manufacturing an equipment enclosure for a PEM electrolyzer research project. The cost of such a project can vary widely depending on the materials, design complexity, and manufacturing requirements. However, considering the size of the enclosure (24 X 50 feet with 12 feet tall ceilings) and the requirement for it to be structurally and functionally sound, a reasonable estimate for the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000. This estimate takes into account the cost of materials, labor, and overheads for a project of this complexity.
