The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District is hosting an Industry Day for the Central City and Dallas Floodway projects. The purpose of the event is to present the projects to industry and improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities. The projects include various components such as flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and recreation. The event will feature presentations from USACE, Tarrant Regional Water District, and the City of Fort Worth, followed by lunch and an opportunity to network and learn more about each project feature in the afternoon. • The Modified Central City Project serves to provide $2.4 billion of continued flood protection for the citizens and properties within the City and the 2,400 acres of established Fort Worth neighborhoods. • The project has various components including an approximate 8,400-foot bypass channel, three flood gates, one pump station, two dams, and valley storage mitigation sites. • The Modified Dallas Floodway Project and Dallas Floodway Extension Project primary focuses on three of five inter-related components within the Dallas Floodway System: Flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and recreation. • The event is open to all large and small businesses interested in working with the USACE Fort Worth District.
