The City of Brea is seeking a qualified law firm or attorney to provide City Attorney Services. The selected firm or individual will be expected to provide a wide range of legal services to the City, including attending City Council meetings, providing general legal advice, and representing the City in litigation. The City is looking for an experienced City Attorney with a strong background in municipal law, including experience with the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, CEQA, and other relevant laws. The selected firm or individual will be required to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with the City. • Provide general legal services and advice to the City Council and City staff • Attend all closed, regular, and special City Council meetings • Represent the City in civil litigation and provide litigation services as requested • Provide training and guidance on legal requirements, including the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act and CEQA • Monitor pending and current state and federal legislation and provide updates to the City • Perform other duties as requested by the City Council or City Manager
