Description:
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the manufacture and delivery of three types of hand grenades: the M67 Hand Fragmentation Delay Grenade, the M111 Hand Offensive Grenade, and the M112 Practice Hand Grenade. The grenades are used for various military applications, including close combat and training exercises. The M67 grenade produces casualties by high-velocity projection of fragments, while the M111 grenade is designed for concussive effects in enclosed areas. The M112 grenade is a practice version of the M111, used for training purposes. Interested companies are requested to provide information on their capabilities, production capacity, and experience in manufacturing similar items. The Government is considering a firm-fixed-price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a period of performance of 3 or 5 years. • The M67 grenade has a steel spherical body filled with high explosives and a pyrotechnic delay fuze. • The M111 grenade produces a shock wave and is effective against enemy soldiers in bunkers, buildings, and fortified areas. • The M112 grenade is a reloadable trainer that replicates the size, shape, and weight of the M111 grenade. • Interested companies must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. • The Government may limit competition to the National Technology Industrial Base (NTIB) for certain components and end items.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$10,000,000 – $100,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific dollar amount or production quantity. However, based on the fact that the Government is considering a firm-fixed-price, IDIQ contract with a period of performance of 3 or 5 years, it is possible that the contract value could be in the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. The production quantity and pricing will depend on various factors, including the contractor's production capacity, material costs, and labor expenses.
