Description:
The City of Long Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to deliver a fully integrated, citywide Bikeshare Program under a single contract. The program aims to modernize the existing fleet, move to electric bikes, and incorporate multiple types of vehicles. The contractor will be responsible for the deployment of 700 Class 1 (pedal-assist only) E-bikes, maintenance and repair of the bike fleet, and local operations. The city is open to proposals for retrofitting analog bikes with modern GPS/locking hardware. The contractor must secure a physical facility within city boundaries for field operations. The proposal should include a comprehensive narrative, a detailed line-item O&M budget, and visual addenda to demonstrate user experience. • Key aspects of the program include: • Modernizing the program by moving to an electric fleet and incorporating multiple types of vehicles • Transit integration through focused hub expansion and payment processes • Advancing equity by strengthening the current BikeShare for All program and meeting geographic distribution metrics • Strategic growth targets to reach a total fleet of 3,000 vehicles by the 2028 Games

Budget Estimate (AI):

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

The estimated budget for this contract can range from $5 million to $15 million, considering the scope of the project, which includes the deployment of 700 Class 1 E-bikes, maintenance and repair of the bike fleet, and local operations. The city's budget for the Prop A fund, which will be used to finance the program, may also influence the budget amount. Additionally, the contractor's experience and capacity to manage fleets of 1,000+ vehicles may impact the final budget.
