Description:
The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to replace the exterior doors at the Mammoth Cave Visitor Center. The project includes the removal and replacement of six sets of exterior double doors, as well as the installation of new aluminum-framed systems with thermally broken frames, bird-safe IGUs, ADA automatic operators, and code-compliant hardware. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the new doors are installed in a way that maintains public access and visitor safety. The project must be completed within 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Some key requirements of the project include: • Field verification of all door dimensions and conditions • Removal and disposal of existing door units, hardware, frames, closers, and associated sealants and thresholds • Installation of new aluminum-framed, thermally broken double doors with insulated glazing units (IGUs) • Provision of twelve automatic door operators • Installation of new hardwired ADA push buttons • Testing and balancing of door closures and locking systems • Final adjustment, testing, and commissioning of hardware and systems
